I saw these sewing machines on a bench in Kyoto.  Why there would be a collection of old Singer sewing machines like this, I do not know.  Any suggestions?

Gone Shopping
Gone Shopping

I’ve justed updated my website with a “Gone Shopping” theme under the Editorial section.  This is an area of photography that has interested me for a while and it’s all about the places people go shopping or obtain services like getting a haircut.  I intend to pursue this theme further over the coming months…

Beautiful temple in Kyoto, very popular with everyone.  Surprisingly very busy, however you would never know from the photography.  The people here manage to set the area up very well.

The Cherry Blossom in Kyoto was quite fantastic and doesn’t last for long depending on the weather.  I’m told that the 2009 season has been particularly spectacular due to the good weather and little wind.  This was taken in the central area of Kyoto.

Here’s another one from Yoyogi Park during the Hanami festivals.  Recorded and processed at a more normal colour balance.  It’s still night time however, hence the  weird look.

Oh gosh - where to start with my trip to Japan last week.  I guess this was one of the first images I process to show one of my friends how you can deal with colour temperature and white balance when taking night shots.  This one was taken without a tripod by resting the camera [...]
