One of the more original houses in Singapore.
Seem being restored in the central area :: April 2010.
A second view of the Melaka Church, for another one, see the picture from two days ago…
This lady was busy watering when I spotted the light through her hat. Taken on a warm October day in Shanghai, 2009.
Another one of Flinder’s Street Station. This time with a traffic light. It’s kind of similar to my image from KL of the Petronas Towers.
My final image of the apartment building which was formally a factory for Colgate and Palmolive. Lovely building and a lovely sky!
A typical street scene in Xing Ping, near Yangshuo, Guangxi Province in China. July 2009.
My last image of a band called Yuguo. This is a band from Jiangxi. So I’m told, they entered a band competition in China and won the first place in Shanghai, after that they started making music on a more serious basis. They play mostly Brit Pop style.

The penultimate of my series on Suburbian Shanghai. There is something in Feng Shui about having a hole in the big building you create to give you good luck. This is often very aparent in Shanghai as many of the most important buildings are designed with quite amazing holes somewhere in their structure.
My second (fake) tilt shifted image where I am working with depth of field to create an interesting image. My understanding is that the best type of images to use for this technique are those which are looking down on a subject. I think this one works well with all the people and interesting event [...]
Part of my Blue collection taken last summer in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Here’s another one from Yoyogi Park during the Hanami festivals. Recorded and processed at a more normal colour balance. It’s still night time however, hence the weird look.
More woodcarving in Malaysia. A job undertaken by members of the family, young and old. No reason why you can’t use your feet in the process as well.
This was taken near the town of Klang just outside of KL, Malaysia. The woodcarvers make the most amazing works of art from the local wood. Often the piece would include links and chains, only possible through the carving.
Many of people living in the small village of Kuala Gandah only speak a local dialect language. This teacher is hired by the Malaysian government to visit the village and teach the local children and some of the adults Malay.
This week I am planning a series of editorial portraits for my blog.
This man was making necklaces outside one of the Hindu Temples in Klung, Malaysia. He was more than happy to allow me to take his portrait and later I had the opportunity to photograph some of his family as well. More portraits to [...]
This is the end of my week of old and soon to be forgotten buildings in Shanghai. This is what’s left of a building in mid demolition in the Jing-an district of Shanghai.
In the Jing’an district, on a back street off Beijing Lu near Changde Lu, there are even more buildings being cleared and demolished to make way for modern developments. This grand looking door has four pieces of paper giving notice of these developments. I wonder what will happen to the door and the handles, will [...]
Moving into a phase of taking pictures showing everyday life and transport. Naturally for me this seems to occur when the sun has gone down. Guess the day jobs gets in the way of anything involving natural light at the moment.
There is definitely better coffee options in Hong Kong, but at least you know what you’re going to get in Starbucks and it’s always a good atmosphere. The branding still looks good to me as well
