Melbourne has so many little side streets in it’s central area. Some of these side streets are just cafe after cafe after cafe. Here’s eight of them!
Melbourne has a fantastic array of coffee shops and cafes - too many to mention. However, here’s one of the more well known ones based in downtown not far from Flinder’s Street Station.
Following on my usual theme of night time blues, here’s a picture from central Melbourne of the Yarra River.
Another one of Flinder’s Street Station. This time with a traffic light. It’s kind of similar to my image from KL of the Petronas Towers.
Taken in the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne. For more information see yesterday’s blog.
This is actually a very cool optical illusion. The ladder is about 2-3 metres long from floor to ceiling, but has a large mirrors on each end facing each other and giving a very cool effect of running off to infinity! See tomorrow for the purple version!
Federation Square takes in much of what could be described as central Melbourne. Of course, it’s also another place to grab a coffee under an umbrella!!
More transport options in Melbourne. This picture of one of the local trams was taken close to Flinders Street Station in downtown Melbourne.
Another view of Flinders Street Station in Melbourne, Australia. I love the flair just working it’s way across this image.
Melbourne is not the most obvious of places when it comes to tourism and sight seeing. In fact I had no idea what I would see when I arrived there last month. Sydney was obvious and easy. The first sight I was informed about was the main railway station in the centre of town - [...]
It’s time for a bit of Melbourne. My 10 day trip to Australia now heads a couple hours flight south to Melbourne where they seem much more obsessed about good food, eating out and a good coffee. No shortage of places to get a latte here and with so many establishments it makes the quality [...]
My final image of the apartment building which was formally a factory for Colgate and Palmolive. Lovely building and a lovely sky!
Second in a series of three images featuring the Colgate and Palmolive apartment conversion in East Balmain, Sydney. See yesterday and tomorrow for the other two images.
East Balmain is a residential suburb in Sydney which via the ferry system is very close to everything. I was staying in a B&B just around the corner from this interesting development. I took a series of three images on the way home from taking pictures of the Sydney City Skyline and Harbour Bridge.
Sydney, on average, has about 23 days where the weather is wet, cloudy and generally unpleasant. I was lucky enough to experience 4 of these 23 days in October this year. However, one good thing comes from all those clouds… and that’s the amazing saturation of all the colours which you don’t see on a [...]
Around the Watson’s Bay Area of Sydney. This is an area of natural beauty with beautiful walks along the coastline and stunning views of the ocean and cliffs. The view of Sydney from Watson’s Bay is the other way and you can view it here: Sydney from Watson’s Bays
Surfing, this time against the back drop of the waves and the local houses. I never thought it would look so Italian here!!
Taken from Watson’s Bay and looking towards Sydney, Austalia. The cloud formation was fabulous!
Racing with the waves are the Bondi Beach Life Guard :: Sydney, Australia, October 2009.
Big waves breaking near Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia.
The turquoise blue waves against a stormy background look great to me! But it’s not quite the Bondi Beach I had in mind!!
After taking the Martin Place subway image, I got a little interested in taking other subway photographs in Sydney. A few follow. Extra points to anyone who notices something not quite right with this pictures, but what makes a big difference to it’s impact on the viewer.
