These door numbers in Mu Du, near Suzhou, China have amazing texture and character.
After spotting one, I just had to make a small collection of the most interesting. See more in my recent work portfolio and over the next few days.
Seen in Mu Du, near Suzhou :: June 2010
Another Beijing door handle, this one is at number 12!
Beijing :: July 2010
Some of the old traditional housing in this area has some wonderful architecture and whilst the buildings are often old, scruffy, dirty or just falling down, you also find this type of front door proudly standing.
Seen yesterday along QianMenXiHeYan Jie in Beijing :: July 2010
This is my first image from Beijing taken yesterday whilst out walking around looking for Tian An Men Square. The scene of bikes against the red wall is just so Chinese and cool.
Beijing :: July 2010.
I’m beginning to get quite a liking for all the different types and varieties of door handles in Shanghai and elsewhere around China.
These were attached to an old door in a very traditional residential part of Xujiahui in Shanghai.
June 2010.
My final series image of doors and locks as captured in Kuala Terengguna.
Malaysia :: April 2010.
This will be my last individual image from the Door and Lock series which I took in the Chinatown area of Kuala Terengguna.
Just one more image to go which will be the series of the best 9. Check that out in a few days time…
Malaysia :: April 2010.
One of the last of the door and lock series looking at strong bold colours and repetition of a commonly seen things in our daily lives.
A series image of doors to follow!
Malaysia :: April 2010.
See in Kuala Terengguna’s Chinatown district alongside a whole load of other colourful doors!
Malaysia :: April 2010.
Seem in Kuala Terengguna alongside many other doors. I do not know which door was the next door!
Are my doors and locks this getting a bit Mark Rothko in style in that the colour field… Another locked door in the Chinatown district of Kuala Terrenguna, Malaysia.
These images have a graphic design feel to me, not sure if that’s true or not, but the strong colours and shapes are appealing.
This next series of doors and locks show the bright and bold colours being used on the facades of businesses around Asia. Most of these pictures were taken in Malaysia, in the Chinatown area of Kuala Terengguna, although I will probably go looking for more doors and handles again in Shanghai very soon!
