15,000 police out in force just in case there were any problems following the funeral of South Korea’s ex-president.  I have been wondering whether it was worth it??!!

Scores of police buses were parked bumper to bumper in the city center. Riot police with shields stood guard at corners and subway exits.
Police declined to comment on security operations. Yonhap news agency said more than 20,000 riot police will be mobilized when the funeral procession rolls through the city center to a historic palace.

South Korea Friday deployed 15,000 riot police in central Seoul as the funeral of former President Roh Moo-Hyun began, amid fears a national outpouring of grief would spark anti-government protests.
That many police all waiting patiently was quite an amazing site.  Along every roadside, every corner, one could become a little nervous!
