My final image of the apartment building which was formally a factory for Colgate and Palmolive. Lovely building and a lovely sky!
Second in a series of three images featuring the Colgate and Palmolive apartment conversion in East Balmain, Sydney. See yesterday and tomorrow for the other two images.
East Balmain is a residential suburb in Sydney which via the ferry system is very close to everything. I was staying in a B&B just around the corner from this interesting development. I took a series of three images on the way home from taking pictures of the Sydney City Skyline and Harbour Bridge.
Sydney, on average, has about 23 days where the weather is wet, cloudy and generally unpleasant. I was lucky enough to experience 4 of these 23 days in October this year. However, one good thing comes from all those clouds… and that’s the amazing saturation of all the colours which you don’t see on a [...]
Around the Watson’s Bay Area of Sydney. This is an area of natural beauty with beautiful walks along the coastline and stunning views of the ocean and cliffs. The view of Sydney from Watson’s Bay is the other way and you can view it here: Sydney from Watson’s Bays
Surfing, this time against the back drop of the waves and the local houses. I never thought it would look so Italian here!!
Taken from Watson’s Bay and looking towards Sydney, Austalia. The cloud formation was fabulous!

Pretty impressive sign posting going on in the Sydney Subway system. Another of these signs to follow tomorrow, but this is the last day of looking for “Martin” signs.
There’s a subway here too :-) The name Martin is everywhere around here!! lol.
Looking onto the bridge from the Balmain East ferry entrance area.
View from the water edge at Balmain looking over the Sydney Central Business District area one evening in October.
Taken from a ferry looking back at the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
However, I still think the black and white version might be a better way to go with this image. What do you think? Comments appreciated on this one…
Four days in Sydney and I only really got a glimse of what Sydney can really be like when the skies are clear. Today was overcast but with some interesting cloud patterns.
The iconic image of Sydney, Australia :: The Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge from the Royal Botanical Garden area.
The weather for me here is terrible, grey, wet and a bit cold - hence the move to black and white images today, as the colour ones don’t have much in the way of a [...]
